Worth Knowing
Poor battery life with older NP-FW50 battery (approx. 300 shots) unsuitable for all-day heavy use
No in-body image stabilization (IBIS), limiting handheld performance at slower shutter speeds with 61MP sensor
Fixed non-articulating LCD screen, limiting composition options for certain shooting angles and scenarios
Continuous autofocus struggles with fast-moving subjects; older 10-year-old lens design limits tracking reliability

Read our notes on general
The Sony RX1R III is the smallest full-frame fixed lens camera on the market, with a 61MP sensor and 35mm F2 lens. Featuring a higher resolution 61MP BSI CMOS sensor, improved AF and video performance, an updated body design, larger battery, and the same beloved ZEISS Sonnar T* 35mm f/2 prime lens from past models, this is the high-performance companion camera that melds extreme image quality with a highly portable size. While the 61MP resolution is about the same as the Leica Q3, Sony's autofocus is on another level entirely – and it's also a whole lot smaller and lighter.
