Fujifilm X-T5

The Fujifilm X-T5 is a mirrorless camera from 2022, built around a 40 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor. That resolution gives photographers room to print large and crop heavily, all within a compact body.

It measures 130 x 91 x 64mm and weighs 557g, dimensions that keep the body compact. The Fujifilm X mount provides access to Fujifilm's X-mount lenses.

Dual card slots, USB charging and a 580-shot battery rating round out the core specification, and later sections cover each area in more detail.

An APS-C CMOS sensor, handled by the X-Processor 5, captures enough pixels for large prints and substantial crops. Cropping after the fact can turn one framing into several finished images.

In-body stabilisation reduces camera shake, so you can handhold at slower shutter speeds than an unstabilised body allows. That helps in dim interiors and evening light, where slower speeds would otherwise risk blur. It steadies the camera, not a moving subject.

The autofocus system offers 425 selectable focus points, giving you a large set of positions for placing focus within the frame.

Shooting speed reaches up to 15fps, though that figure is a maximum rather than a promise of sustained rate. A 1/8000s top shutter speed helps when using wide apertures in bright light, and sensitivity runs from ISO 125 to 12800. Framing goes through a 3.69 million-dot electronic viewfinder.

Video recording tops out at 6K resolution, giving footage latitude for cropping and reframing during the edit. Files record in MOV format. Framing can go through the electronic viewfinder or the LCD, and the flip screen helps when shooting at low or high angles.

Frame-rate support includes 60fps, so motion plays smoothly and footage can be slowed for effect when a project calls for it.

High-resolution recordings can require generous card capacity, so carry enough media for the planned session. A built-in timelapse mode also gives you an in-camera option for interval work.

The 3-inch LCD offers 1.84 million dots for live view and playback. The screen flips, which helps when shooting at waist level or overhead, and touch input provides direct on-screen control.

There is no built-in flash. The camera does take external flash units, so add one when you need fill light rather than relying on the body.

Weather sealing lets you keep working through dust and drizzle. Treat it as protection, not waterproofing, and take extra care in sustained heavy rain.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in for wireless connection to other devices. GPS is absent, so the camera does not tag shots with location data on its own.

Two card slots accept SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. You can load two cards before a shoot and keep the same card family in both slots.

The NP-W235 battery carries a rating of 580 shots per charge. A charged spare covers longer or more intensive shooting days.

USB charging lets you top the battery up between shoots. A charged spare remains useful when continuous work leaves little time to stop.
