What We Like
+Exceptional focal length range: 300-1200mm (35mm equiv.) extends to 2400mm with teleconverter—ideal for wildlife and distant subjects
+Excellent image stabilization: Up to 7 stops of Sync IS compensation enables confident handheld shooting at extreme focal lengths
+Fast and silent autofocus system: Movie and Still Compatible (MSC) with stepping motors delivers quick, quiet performance suitable for action and wildlife
+Impressive close-focus capability: 0.56m minimum focus at 150mm with 0.7x magnification enables compelling tele-macro photography
+Rugged weather sealing: IPX1 splash/dust proof with fluorine coating makes it reliable in harsh field conditions
+Well-built construction: Solid engineering with Arca-Swiss tripod collar and heavy-duty locking mechanisms ensures professional-grade durability
Worth Knowing
Significant weight and size: At 2.065kg, it's the heaviest Micro Four Thirds lens and bulky relative to the system format, limiting extended handheld shooting
Premium pricing: At ~$2,700 USD, it costs considerably more than comparable full-frame alternatives like the Nikon Z 180-600mm ($1,700)
Softer image quality at 600mm: Some reviewers noted reduced contrast and slight haze at maximum focal length compared to the wider end; sharpens up when stopped down
Focus hunting in certain conditions: Autofocus can hunt for focus in some scenarios; focus limiter controls help but require user management

Read our notes on general
The OM System M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm f/5.0-6.3 IS offers compelling image quality, excellent build quality and extreme reach. Its 300-1200mm equivalent focal-length range extends to 2400mm with a teleconverter, making it ideal for capturing nature, birds, and other wildlife. Although not a PRO lens, the AF performance is fast enough for action and wildlife, with practically no AF operation sound. As the heaviest lens in the Micro Four Thirds lineup at over 2kg, it demands a tripod or monopod for extended use but rewards serious wildlife photographers with unmatched reach in a relatively portable package.
